We are proud to announce that our CIO Rob Visser has been named CIO of the Year by ICT Media. The jury awarded him in recognition of his focus on customers and his people, and his authentic and convincing story. ITexecutive.nl
Rob received the award during the CIODAY, an annual network event for digital decision-makers. Rob won thanks to his strategic vision on engineering, craftmanship and customer focus. The jury said: "Rob truly stands for something and knows how to get the best out of people."
One of the concepts that are central to the leadership of winner Rob Visser is what he calls 'uninterupted makers time'. In other words, the space and time with which specialized people can work for the organization or the customer. If it is up to him, meetings will be held as little as possible and PowerPoint presentations are out of the question.
Rob: 'this win is thanks to the collective contribution of the IT department. I truly believe that craftsmanship and people make the difference. A big thank you to all the IT colleagues at NN, as this really is a joint achievement of which we all can be very proud. Great people create great results!’
In our global IT organisation, headed by Rob, we recognise the growing need for talented IT professionals. In addition to our recruitment efforts, we support our colleagues to learn and grow in their roles. Our way of working promotes an engineering culture, using a 'guilds’ setup and harnessing the power of the collective. For example, our Make IT Work programme helps young IT professionals gain a postgraduate diploma in IT, and our IT Academy offers learning programmes developed for and by colleagues.
