Operational Auditor

In this role we provide you with an opportunity to participate in the execution of the Internal Audit Function on highest level within the organization. Together with your audit colleagues from CAS you will have exposure to various business management levels and the opportunity to learn from them and witness executive decision making from the inside.

Realistic results

Using your own initiative and ambition, you achieve the best results:

  • Analyse upfront the business processes and applications which are used for the value chains of the NN Non-life business lines which will be audited.
  • Performing assessments and reviews of business processes, data flows and applications in the various parts of NN Non-life business lines.
  • Timely, clear and complete reporting to higher management, including well-reasoned recommendations for improvement.
     

The team

Corporate Audit Services NN Group (CAS), the internal audit department within NN Group, is an independent assurance function which independently assesses the effectiveness of the design of the organisation and the quality of procedures and control measures. CAS provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to enhance and protect organisational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. CAS supports NN Group to accomplish its mission and objectives through a systematic, documented approach to examine, evaluate and improve the design and effectiveness of governance, risk (management) processes, and internal control.

Based on the CAS mission (our purpose), our aspiration is ‘Making risks visible. Contributing to business improvements’. Our key aspiration is to remain focused throughout all NN Group in- and external change in making risk visible to our auditees and stakeholders.

Furthermore, our work does not stop with reporting observations. CAS want to contribute to remediation/business improvement, by being able to provide valuable input for management actions, to perform follow-up and other support – fitting our mandate.

You will be part of the Non-life Audit department, consisting of around 8 people. For each audit assignment a new team is created, not only from colleagues from the Non-life Audit department. In audits you will collaborate with different colleagues from other CAS departments with specific expertise on IT audit, Finance & Risk and Shared Services enabling best added value delivery for the business. Besides audits on business processes, important business change projects are audited.

The constantly changing teams of colleagues feel quite familiar; this is due undoubtedly to the intensive multidisciplinary collaboration. We consider good mutual connections to be important; after all, your goal is to successfully complete a complex assignment together.

You will receive your holiday allowance and 13th month with your salary every month, without restriction and readily available to you. As an Operational Auditor, you will work from our well located office in The Hague, which offers an easy connection via the A12. You can also use the public transport card which is offered by NN to all employees for free travelling by bus, tram and train.

Due to the coronavirus, most of the NN colleagues work from home. At the moment it is unclear when we can return to the office. The official location for this position is The Hague.

 

Critical skills of an Operational Auditor

During an audit, you will regularly be dealing with complex and sensitive material. But with your excellent communicative and social skills, you succeed in creating a broad consensus for the conclusions and recommendations with your team. You’ve got a true hands-on mentality; you enjoy resolving complex problems in a practical manner and you can keep a cool head. Due to the nature of the work, being fluent in Dutch is a requirement.

The assessment consists of a personality test, a driver test and an intelligence test. We believe your personal qualities are very important and use this assessment to test whether you meet the NN Mindset. This will be an online test and the results will be shown  immediately.
