As its name suggests: Financial Reporting is what we do in the Liability Performance and Reporting team of NN Life Finance. In a rapidly changing environment, we deliver high-quality financial reports to our internal stakeholders.

Your impact as a Financial Reporter at NN

Our Pension Services team is responsible for all standardised IFRS and Market Value/SII liability reports and valuation activities. We collect, analyse and adjust financial data. Besides that, we run the valuation models and assess their output. We review the models as well since there is always room for improvement. For this, we work closely together with our model builders at the IT-department. To make sure we deliver high-quality reports that comply with the rules, we oversee and support all reporting requirements. Whenever our reports are ready, we present and explain them to our stakeholders within NN Life and NN Group, colleagues and management.

In our team you fulfil a coordinating role, in which you oversee a large part of the reporting process. You help other team members in making the right choices and getting the work done in time.

What your analyses deliver

You will work with us to:

  • Deliver high-quality financial reports to our colleagues within NN Life, so that management is well informed and so that we support the business in making (policy) decisions, taking the financial consequences into account.
  • Continuously improve the efficiency of our reporting work, where automation plays a significant role.
  • Maintain a solid control framework, so we minimize mistakes and sustain external trust in the work we deliver.

We care

Here at NN, care is a core value – care for our customers as well as our employees. You care for our customers’ needs, and as your employer, NN cares for yours. We offer excellent development opportunities and a pleasant working environment. For your career development, we offer you:

  • On-the-job training and vocational training via our Learning & Development Centre
  • Industry-specific conferences (both in the Netherlands and internationally)
  • In-house training

You are part of our Pension Services team. In Rotterdam, we have seven skilled professionals that work on the finance reports. Our four other talented colleagues are based in Amsterdam. Now and then, we meet up to discuss our work, align our priorities and tune our reports. We also start our week with a joint online meeting checking in with each other and discussing the priorities for the upcoming week. We share our office with other reporting teams in Rotterdam. All of us get on well together, and the atmosphere in the office is informal. We all have a strong work appetite, and work the hours that are needed to get the reporting done, but even during stressful times, we make time for a lunch walk and we like to throw in some humour to keep things light.

Our purpose

Thanks to your efforts, we make our financial services relevant and more personal.

You help us go above and beyond when providing the very best customer service. We believe in the importance of customer satisfaction and consistently serving our customers to the best of our abilities. They are the core of our company values and our most important motivator. As a company, we have set up several subsidiaries as we have grown: NN, NN Investment Partners, Nationale-Nederlanden, OHRA, ABN AMRO Insurance, BeFrank, Zicht, AZL and Movir.

Clear conditions

We offer you modern employment conditions and generous employee benefits. For example, you have the option of taking extra vacation days. We are also working towards implementing Choose your Own Device. You will receive your holiday allowance and 13th month with your salary every month, without restriction and readily available to you. As a Financial Reporter, your workplace is situated next to Rotterdam Central train station, above the DE Café. An ideal spot for a good cup of coffee. And our restaurant offers superior Asian cuisine and delicious Hawaiian Poké bowls. What else could you want?

Critical skills of a Financial Reporter

You know your way around numbers. At the same time, you also know how to connect with people. With your proactive mindset, you try to solve every problem that you come across. You are always looking for improvement. When you present your work, you do so with certainty that you have done everything in your power to deliver that high-quality report. It will be an added value if you have some experience with Solvency II, and a good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
