The Investment Office (IO) is the Centre of Excellence for General Account Investments of NN Group. Within IO, the department Private Markets is responsible for all private market assets, currently real estate, private equity and private loans. The responsibility entails setting the strategies, construct, monitor and evaluate the portfolios and select and instruct the in- and external asset managers, fund managers and advisors.
A further expansion of the private market portfolios and private markets asset universe is desirable to improve the investment returns for NN. To as a team be able to coordinate the current portfolios, asset managers and fund managers and embark on new trends to find the best risk adjusted returns, maintaining a strong underwriting discipline, IO Private Markets is looking for a Portfolio Analyst to be added to the Private Markets team.
Your main responsibilities:
We are seeking a portfolio analyst to further strengthen our team on the rapidly developing private portfolios and partnerships. The analyst will provide support to the Portfolio Managers on their activities. Main responsibilities will be gathering market intelligence, keep track of pipelines, assist in underwriting and commitment processes, portfolio, manager and fund monitoring and evaluation. The portfolio analyst will together with the Portfolio Managers strengthen the grip on the existing portfolios and expand existing and new strategies. The scope entails real estate, private equity and private loans strategies as well as new strategies.
Your experience and skills:
Minimum of 5 years working experience. A good understanding of the private markets investment universe and key market drivers. Demonstrable track record in at least one of the private market asset classes, with respect to analysis, underwriting, valuations, and structures. Strong analytical skills with the ability to express and communicate views, written and verbally. Dedicated and result oriented. Capable of analyzing the asset classes top down and individual investments bottom up.
Relevant Masters’ degree and strong analytical skills. Knowledge of financial instruments, investment vehicles and investment structures in particular. Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Proactive and capable to independently take charge of your responsibilities.
Your team and challenge:
You will work in a team of 6 professionals, including yourself, that all have their area of attention. Growing the Private Markets portfolios in light of the attractive risk/return profiles of the asset classes, the low rates in the public market and the Solvency II regulatory environment is a priority for NN as it is for many institutional investors. Hence in a crowded market, you will support the portfolio managers in identifying the scarce pockets of value and assist in unlock them, supporting internal approval processes and monitoring the portfolios and managers, to help us further grow a portfolio with solid risk/return that is capable to weather market cycles.
