What impact will you have as Team Leader Insurance Accounting at NN?
The Finance Department at NN Belgium is currently going through a major transformation process. As Team Leader Insurance Accounting, you will manage the accounting and closing processes. You will also work on optimising these processes. In addition, you will play a central role in the conceptual development of the future Insurance Accounting department. And you will do all this with a team of 10 colleagues. In this job, you will report to the Financial Accounting Manager.
Accounting:

- Supervision of all insurance-related accounting processes;
- Coordination of month-end closing activities;
- Support of the analytical review in conjunction with the Reporting department;
- Supervision of product and liabilities tax accounting;
- Accounts reconciliation, justification and documentation;
- Support for the Financial Risk Reporting process;
- Keep a close eye out for process optimisations;
- Responsibility for compliance with existing group/local accounting policies;
- Central contact person for internal and external auditors.
Team Management:
- Empower the Insurance Accounting team to achieve the department’s objectives;
- Support your team in strengthening skills (accounting techniques, IT tools & soft skills);
- Coach the team in the change process and transversal overview of initiatives.
Project:
- Close involvement in Finance Change Projects, such as the migration to a new accounting system;
- Collaboration with the project teams, focusing on:
1. defining the business requirements in relation to your scope;
2. planning and preparing project activities within the team;
3. developing a new reporting environment;
4. coordinating the test activities that team has to perform.

What do you have to offer as Team Leader Insurance Accounting?
As Team Leader Insurance Accounting, you have experience in insurance accounting, but you are also a strong team motivator. You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a financial / mathematics subject. Experience with transformations would be a bonus.
- Experience in training and motivating employees as part of a transformation phase;
- Accurate, organised;
- Proactive and a problem-solver;
- You can work smoothly with your stakeholders: you have the ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflicts;
- In-depth technical know of insurance accounting and at least 5 years of relevant experience in insurance accounting;
- Fluent Dutch and French; good knowledge of English.
