What impact will you have as Data Quality Officer at NN?
As Data Quality Officer, you’ll be responsible for reviewing, streamlining and monitoring the Data Quality Framework and for the approach it takes. Your talent for Data Quality Management will enhance the efficiency of the existing controls and result in a future-proof Data Quality Framework that is in line with the requirements of NN Group and the local legislator (NBB).
You will support NN Belgium by implementing an integrated and optimised Data Quality Framework, focused on improving the quality of our data. Your job will also to embed the notion of Data Ownership more strongly within our organisation. You will be responsible for coordinating and further improving the existing Data Quality Framework, while focusing on the development of a future-proof Data Quality Framework for our integrated company. You will also have a major impact on the broader Data Governance and other integration initiatives designed to introduce other Data Quality improvements in the whole organisation. You will report to our CFO.
What will your main duties be?
1. Coordinating and optimising the current Data Quality Framework
You will support NN Belgium by implementing an integrated and optimised Data Quality Framework, focused on improving the quality of our data. Your job will also to embed the notion of Data Ownership more strongly within our organisation. You will be responsible for coordinating and further improving the existing Data Quality Framework, while focusing on the development of a future-proof Data Quality Framework for our integrated company. You will also have a major impact on the broader Data Governance and other integration initiatives designed to introduce other Data Quality improvements in the whole organisation. You will report to our CFO.
What will your main duties be?
1. Coordinating and optimising the current Data Quality Framework
- Coordinating the way data quality is monitored and reported: gathering and consolidating information about the various parties involved, about important developments that may affect data quality, about issues and measures for mitigating risk;
- Periodically drafting a Data Quality report and keeping local management, NN Group and the external auditors KPMG up to date with the status, assessment and follow-up of data quality problems, the latest data quality requirements and the decisions and measures implemented by management;
- You will be responsible for the correct implementation of data quality controls and associated processes. Your contribution to the further optimisation of the existing control process is crucial;
- You will support, advise and challenge the parties involved in the data quality process;
- You will coordinate and support the documenting of existing processes;
- You will identify data quality discrepancies in relation to the Solvency II legislation (NBB) and the policy of NN Group.
2. Putting in place a future-proof Data Quality framework within the integrated company
- You’ll define the level of data governance required. You’ll also develop (new) roles and responsibilities for embedding Data Ownership in the company. You will be doing this in close collaboration with the data owners;
- You will harmonise the existing Data Quality Frameworks;
- You will provide comprehensive control and monitoring activities for the processes between data owners, users and managers;
- You will organise monthly meetings to discuss progress with the data owners and the CFO and CRO;
- You will work with the data owners and the DIL team to draw up the data quality requirements for other projects in the organisation, for example for the implementation of a data integration layer (DIL);
- You will provide documentation for the data, data flows and processes and, working with the data owners, will ensure that everything remains up to date;
- You will ensure that the organisation complies with statutory requirements and the standards of NN Group regarding data quality.
What do you have to offer as Data Quality Officer?
The ideal candidate for this role has a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in data management. Your in-depth knowledge of data profiling, data mapping, validation, usages and testing, etc. mean that you will be up and running in the position quickly.
- You have experience in designing Data Quality models and putting them into operation.
- You are familiar with important data concepts such as Data Quality Management, Data Governance, establishing data quality rules and controlling data definitions. You’re a team player who is happy to work across departments and knows how to coordinate things with business and IT stakeholders. With your talent as a project manager, you are able to guide initiatives smoothly, from the planning stage through to implementation.
- Thanks to your analytical skills, you are able to go straight to the heart of the problem. You know which direction to take and are pragmatic and solutions-oriented. You are highly motivated and results-focused.
- You have outstanding communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. You are able to convince people and turn opposition into collaboration.
- You deal well with uncertainty and with working in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.
- You speak English, as well as one of our national languages, Dutch or French.
